Bussel Peak is recorded to have been built in 1938 so finding "1939" written in the cement of the footings was pretty exciting.
I've had a love affair with history and exploring new places since childhood - cue the Johnny Quest theme music. I am especially fascinated by mining and logging history of the American West - but more specifically the people that created and shaped that history. Life would be perfect if every second was spent with dirt under my boots (or tires) and a dog at my side.

There are still ruins left at the site, including some timbers from the R-6 and the cement footings from both the L-4 and the R-6 towers.
Abandoned
We were very excited to find something intriguing at this historic lookout site!
After visiting the sites of Butler Mountain and Blacktail Mountain we are a little confused and think perhaps the written history is incorrect going by the ruins we found.
Kellogg Peak is a replica tower located at Silver Mountain Resort.
Snow Peak Lookout is worth the hike and might soon be on the rental program.
