Our Notes

This site has a ton of history. It is a popular destination for single-track and ATV riders since you can still drive to the top. When you first reach the summit, the first thing that catches your attention is the electric equipment, now used as an electronic site.

But once you step back and start looking closer, the history begins popping out at you.

I wish we had been up there less than a decade before when the cabin was still around. The burn scars from the fire still surround the mountain. We could identify remnants of the cabin, including some of its logs, hinges, stove pipe, and footings from each of the different topers living there. And, of course, the outhouse foundation and vault still exist.
