From US FOREST SERVICE – PAYETTE NATIONAL FOREST FACEBOOK POST
We honor our four fallen firefighters who were stationed here on the Payette National Forest. On August 13, 2006, helicopter 5EV crashed while conducting a mission on the East Fork South Fork of the Salmon River, taking the lives of William’s Peak lookout Lillian Patten, assistant helicopter crew supervisor Michael Lewis, helicopter crew member Monica Zajanc and pilot Quin Stone.
We will always remember!
