1924: Original log cabin with Cupola
1958: Fire destroys original cabin
1978: 20 years later new R-6 flat top is built on a 10′ stone base.
2009: Added to the National Historic Lookout Register

*Note from NHLR: Heaven’s Gate was reportedly named in contrast to the nearby Seven Devils and Hells Canyon
