OUR NOTES

When we initially began exploring this area we were mistakenly looking for the remains of a cabin. Not sure how we’d gotten our info mixed up – but as we explored the site what we found didnt match up to what we THOUGHT was recorded to be here.

So with some excitement we found the cement footings and decided this was DEFINITELY the site of an L-4 lookout and not just a cabin. We did find what appears to have been a very small shed nearby, as well as the holes from two separate privies.

Other artifacts lay about the site like old bottles, cans and radio batteries.

Once we had arrived back at the vehicle and checked our notes we realized we had read the wrong info initially – and this WAS the location on an L-4. We were somewhat proud of ourselves for correctly interpreting what the ruins were telling us. Lets not talk about how we mucked up the info to begin with, haha.
