1973: Destroyed
OUR NOTES
What we thought would be a quick drive up to take note of what was left of this destroyed tower turned into quite the adventure!
The road is gated so we thought, no big deal its a 1/2 mile hike in. What we werent prepared for was no road. We had to bushwack in the 1/2 mile (that felt a whole lot longer) but what we found made up for it!

We could see the cement footings first and then quickly found a multitude of ruins and artifacts scattered around the site.

The site appears to have been burnt down judging by the melted glass but not everything was lost to the fire. For example we found a portion of the stairs still recognizable, which we thought was a pretty exciting find.

Some of the other items found around the site were the bedframe, hinges, nails, No 9 wire, 2 metal buckets, remnants of the stove pipe, several insulators and – the most exciting find – the alidade stand!

With all the ruins left behind at this site it was easy to imagine the tower that once stood here and look around the surrounding views to know what the last lookout stationed here watched over.
