History
1934 – L-4 Cab on log crib
2014 – Added to the National Historic Lookout Register
Due to its remote location, requiring a boat to cross the Salmon River and a 6-mile hike with over 5,000 feet of elevation gain, this tower is rarely visited. It is believed to have been staffed during the 1960s and 1970s. – NHLR
Twice a year, former lookout Dr. Phillip Krueger of Boise, Idaho, visits the lookout to open and close it for the season. – NHLR
