History
1933 – 25′ Pole tower with L-4 Cab
1955 – Removed
This lookout was unusual in that it wasn’t perched on a distant ridge but built low on the hillside, directly overlooking the town of Mullan. In fact, old U.S. Highway 10 ran right past the tower, giving it more traffic and company than most lookouts ever saw. Unlike the majority of its backcountry peers, it even enjoyed running water from a gravity-fed spring farther up the hill.
Today, not only is the tower gone, but the modern I-90 cuts directly through the spot where it once stood.
