OUR NOTES

WHAT A VIEW!

One thing we have found over and over – when the Coeur d’Alene forest removed a lookout they did a very through job!

Almost nothing left at the site of Cougar Peak Lookout, not even the cement footings.

The most interesting thing remaining (other than that INCREDIBLE 360 degree view) are the names inscribed in the rocks.

We found names and dates back to the 1920s and up to present day.

Billy examining all the names carved into the rocks.
Kellogg Evening News 1962 * Bus Peterson was the 1st lookout at Cougar Peak
