HISTORY
1931: 30′ pole L-4
From the Sanders County Independent-Ledger in 1931; “The new lookout at 72 peak on the Montana-Idaho state line has been completed. This is the latest style, with a porch entirely around it, built on a 30-foot tower, and heavily insulated against lightning. It can be reached by auto over the Jacks gulch road, south of Heron.”
1950: The tower was destroyed.
Our Notes
There is next to nothing left of this lookout other than a large pile of rocks and a gorgeous view.
